Jamie

headshots-4Jamie has been entertaining audiences since the tender age of 11, with his passionate renditions of the Rock ‘n Roll classics. He was first introduced to the lure of rock n roll after watching the film La Bamba. It was then that he decided he wanted to learn guitar and sing like his idols Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly. A fascination with Elvis Presley’s soon followed and there was no going back.

Regular appearances at school assemblies and entertaining classmates, friends and family became a common occurrence. Along with weight training this was to become his real passion. At the age of 16 he formed his first band (Ivy) playing a mixture of indie music, his own material and rock n roll classics. They gigged regularly on the local scene, performing for the likes of Newcastle United football legend Keith Gillespie and at several festivals.

Jamies desire to create music, perform and entertain, led him to team up with Michael, once again delivering Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers and Elvis Presley’s music to enthusiastic audiences at charity events and functions on the local circuit. Whilst the band line up gradually changed with the addition of Mala Watson (lead guitar) and Arron Overton (drums), Jamie took advantage of the new craze –YouTube.

Under the Moniker of BaldyHolly, Jamie garnered a huge following on YouTube, amassing almost a million views. He renamed his group ‘The Baldy Holly Band’ as his following grew, and newspaper coverage and an appearance on Tyne Tees Television further enhanced his profile. Due to his desire for live performance, and to re-produce Rock’ n Roll in its truest energetic form, preserving an often forgotten music.

Quote:
“Rock n Roll has always been in my blood, I may have lost the quiff, but never the passion. With my great band I am able to deliver the music in a way that stays true to the records I grew up on. Now lets Rock ‘n’ Roll!!!”
